Cholm Shield - Type 3
This is Cholm shield is classified as Type 3 by collectors. This type is made of Cupal and has great detail. These shields usually have two prongs and are said to have been intended for use on photo albums. This specimen has three prongs and is complete with backing cloth, back-plate, and backing paper. While the shield is meets all criteria of a period piece, the backing assembly can be expected to have been modified at some time, possibly even after the war. The shield is in high excellent condition and costs a fraction of the first two types.
